In order to direct-fit the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the 2AZ-FE engine, one should first take off the air cleaner assembly by disconnecting the mass air flow meter, loosening the hose clamp, and removing the air cleaner parts. Thereafter, dismantle the ECM by extracting the lock knobs, connectors and securing bolts.
