2009 Scion xB Air Bag Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the side Air Bag sensor on 2009 Scion xB?
A: The first step to remove the side Air Bag sensor is disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal then waiting for 90 seconds to avert Air Bag deployment. The removal process starts with taking off the front door scuff plate RH followed by the rear door scuff plate RH and front door opening trim Weather Strip RH along with rear door opening trim Weather Strip RH and center pillar lower garnish RH. Both terminals should remain detached because failure to do so could trigger accidental Air Bag deployment. Start by detaching the Air Bag connector through the outer housing before eliminating the bolt and unhooking the assembly to remove the side Air Bag sensor.
