2008 Toyota Yaris Sway Bar Kit Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
A: The process begins with disconnecting battery negative terminal cable and then removing the hood sub-assembly. Start by removing the front wiper arm head cap after which you should detach both front wiper arm assemblies with their blades from the left and right sides. The process for hatchbacks involves removing the hood to cowl top seal but sedans need the removal of cowl side ventilator sub-assemblies from both left and right sides. Next in order is to take the front wiper motor and link and the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly from the vehicle. Hatchback owners must also eliminate the cowl to register duct sub-assembly but sedan owners need to remove the front air shutter seal as part of the process. The next step requires removal of the outer cowl top panel. Remove the front wheel with the wheels pointed forward before extracting the column hole cover silencer sheet followed by the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly and steering column hole cover sub-assembly. The first step includes separating tie rod end sub-assemblies on both left and right sides before removing front lower suspension arms from both sides. Use socket hexagon wrench 6 to uninstall both front sway bar link assemblies but only if ball joint motion occurs with the nut. Secure the engine system when you take away the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly and power steering gear. To proceed remove each of the two bolts from the front sway bar brackets on both sides. The last operation entails the removal of both the front sway bar kit and the front sway bar bush.
